Other Mail Clients

Send from your domain in any email client.

Desktop email clients like Thunderbird, Outlook, and Spark can use OhRelay as the outgoing SMTP server. Once configured, you keep receiving mail in your normal inbox and can send replies through OhRelay by selecting the gateway in the From field.

You only need to configure one gateway per working inbox. All your domain addresses route through the same sender.

Generic setup

Adding OhRelay as an outgoing server

The exact path varies by email client, but the required SMTP information is always exactly the same. Here is what you need to provide.

1

Open your Account Settings

In your email client (like Thunderbird or Outlook), find the settings for the email account you use as your working inbox. Look for sections named Account Settings or Outgoing Server (SMTP).

2

Add a new SMTP server

Choose to add or edit an outgoing server. You will be prompted to enter connection details.

3

Fill in the OhRelay SMTP details

Use the following standard parameters. For example, in Thunderbird, these exact fields are required:

  • Description: OhRelay (or any name you prefer)
  • Server Name: smtp.ohrelay.com
  • Port: 587
  • Connection security (TLS/SSL): STARTTLS
  • Authentication method: Normal password
  • User Name: the Gateway Email shown in your OhRelay dashboard
  • Password: your OhRelay SMTP password

Save these settings to add the server.

4

Select the Gateway Email when composing

When composing or replying, click the From field dropdown and select your Gateway Email from OhRelay. OhRelay will deliver the message with your correct domain sender address — recipients never see the gateway address.
